C. Crispulo M.

Art • Sculpture • Design

Inaudible expressionism. The display of what words can't explain or communicate is the bent of C. Crispulo M.'s attraction to tragedy and joy. Story has been a way of life for C. Crispulo M., listening and telling stories has always been the food for his art. "I can't read real well but I can listen, I love what is said in between the words of someone's story, it's in the emotion that all nourishment lies. As an artist I have spent most of my career focusing on the aspects of the human experience that defy the written word and can only be communicated through nonverbal interaction with each other. Looking deeply at the things we can only come to know about each other by being in close community with one another has been the place where I have drawn most of the inspiration for my art. Whether it is a 2D charcoal sketch or half tone 3D limestone carving I want my art to make people feel and empathize, I want people to be curious about there emotions and the people that they live their lives with. This has become a deeply personal endeavor, living in a world where the television and the internet have begun replacing authentic community and interaction with each other and people are becoming strangers in there own homes more and more these days. I do art because I want to know people and I want people to know me. Outside of Facebook please".  said Crispulo while sitting at the Three Trees Coffee House in downtown Bellingham, W.A.

Living a life of average tragedy and joy, overwhelming at times, Crispulo continues down the road as an artist, sculptor and poet hopping to catch a smile in someones tiers or cause a tier in the middle some laughter.
